Guerlain is now very present on our screens and redoubles its imagination and talent to transport us and make us dream, whether it is through music, images, or the feelings it gives off. In order to know the impact and the feeling of Guerlain's advertisements, it seemed interesting to us to know the opinion of the passers-by in order to know how they perceive them, so as to know which message Guerlain can make pass through its advertisements. We selected 2 different ads, the first one on “La Petite Robe Noire” and the second one on “Aqua Allegoria”. We showed to 2 passers-by Léane, 23, a French student in communication living in Paris and Thomas, 27, a French business manager in consulting living in Paris.
Léane gave us her feelings about the two ads,
"There is a very classic Parisian aspect with all the main monuments that we find like the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower or Concorde that we can see. The music of Nancy Sinara also gives a boost and fits well with the image of Paris, which recalls the class and luxury. The music fits thanks to Guerlain in time and keeps a classic but dynamic side. For me the Petite Robe Noire is now associated with the city of Paris. Seeing the fictitious muse of the Petite Robe Noire all along reminds us I think the image of the brand.
Aqua Allegoria, compared to the other one gives more of a feeling of nature and senses with water, earth, greenery and we also have the reminder with their symbol the bee. We can also see the different seasons of the year represented.
The music at the beginning starts softly which gives a peaceful aspect to see with the images but then becomes louder and gives a feeling of power. One could interpret this with all that nature has to offer, the creation of the perfume could be possible. For me it's an advertisement that I like very much. Here the senses have been put forward, we can feel a certain softness and lightness towards the flowers against the skin.” I really like this one, it makes you want to go and smell the different fragrances of the range."
Then Thomas gave us his feelings about the ads,
"The one for the little black dress has remained quite classic for the last few years, well done but not really reinvented in fact. We can see the monuments of Paris, so we can associate the perfume to the capital. For me it's not the best ad, I find it redundant and too classic at the end. But where Guerlain has done a good job is to have correlated and associated the perfume to the muse. We know directly what it refers to when we see it.
Regarding the "Aqua Allegoria" ad, the aspect of the earth gives a more natural aspect to the perfume and the different colors offer a dynamic aspect, we can feel a certain connection with the earth. Also, the voice of Sia brings a strength and emphasizes the different bottles. The fact that the bottles come out of the water can be lost as a new birth, a birth thanks to the elements present on earth."
Thanks to Léane and Thomas for giving us their time and sharing their point of view and feelings on the different Guerlain ads! In any case we see that Guerlain has succeeded in passing a strong message through their ads whether through them images, music, places or staged!
And you, what are your opinions and feelings about these ads? Don't hesitate to tell us in comments!
